I saw ur new client's website. (h__p://talktoht.com/)
After looking up the website a little bit, i thought of putting my own bit. But i was surprised to find that my username and ID did not exist on that server even though i used to be a registered user on h__t://ideas.yousuggest.us
the moment my login was denied, i was actually withdrawn from the idea of registering a new account. I dont want to maintain 10 different accounts over the internet. As it is its not easy to remember one single PW, and carrying multiple accounts is difficult.
The idea struck me looking at Google's and microsoft's way of life.
To sign into the microsoft/google network u just need one account (.net passport for microsoft and google account for google).
why not create a universal username and PW for the yousuggest network?
i agree that sharing one company's customer information with another is a very bad practice & is actually illegal if its against the signed agreements. But isnt what does the yousuggest's client have to do with who is the user? arnt they concerned only with what is the feedback? as it is, on the registration form customer specific information is not asked so that a user can be identified by profession. I really dont think i actually need the User's ID if im ur client. all i would care about is what is the input from the general public and how many readers are there so that i know the rate at which ur pages are viewed daily.
so to sum it up, make one USER ID and PW universal to log into the yousuggest network without harming your client's personal interests ofcourse :)

Ease of access

hi,
my suggestion to you is actually concerning ease of access.
If you consider a lay person like me, who is interested in providing feedback to companies, i have to have ease of access.
now a single idea cannot be targeted to only a special category of people rite?
it has to take into account the community as a whole.
so, the community includes office going people aswell, who frankly speaking dont want to waste their time by opening a new window/tab in their browser and switching to it every now and then.. just to check that there is no update on the forum.
I would suggest that along with Feeds, start off with a mailing list aswell. (some people actually are not comfortable with feeds like me..its just a mindset but i dont like feeds.)
whenever a new idea is posted, the the new idea will be mailed in text format to "only the subscribed" readers and not everyone registered on the website. the mail will have a link to the website so he can post his reply if he wishes.
it will be easy for the user to just check his mail and receive the updates from Yousuggest and its partners just by checking his mail. it saves time, and solves the purpose of keeping the users updated as to what is going on in yousuggest.
the mailing list concept is used by most of the blogs over the internet today.
